MS162 gas chainsaw: entry-level model for a variety of tasks
The STIHL MS162 gas chainsaw is a reliable entry-level power tool for private grounds maintenance. Whether you want to saw firewood or prune fruit trees, the lightweight and robust STIHL MS162 chainsaw is suitable for occasional use in a wide range of applications. This reliable chainsaw can even fell smaller trees.
The powerful STIHL 2-MIX engine is part of the optimised overall system of the STIHL MS162, ensuring good cutting performance alongside low fuel consumption. This means that you can reliably make precise cuts supported by the standard 3/8"P saw chain with its narrow kerf. Your chainsaw runs smoothly and quietly: the STIHL anti-vibration system reduces transmission of vibrations to the handle, which relieves strain on your muscles and joints.
Highly convenient: all functions such as start, operation and stop can be controlled with just one hand thanks to single-lever operation. Restarting after interruptions is effortless because the combi-lever with stop function automatically springs back into the operating position. Other comfort features include safe and easy chain re-tensioning facilitated by extremely practical side-mounted chain tensioning.

SIMPLIFIED OPERATION. Only one start position is required on the combi lever. Thanks to the stop function, once the machine is turned off the control lever immediately moves back into the operating position. This allows a warm machine to be restarted immediately.
FOR FEWER STARTING STROKES. The manual fuel pump reduces the number of strokes required to start the power tool, making the start-up process quicker and easier This is particularly helpful after longer breaks in operation. To use it, actuate the pump several times before starting. This will ensure that there is enough petrol in the carburettor when starting.
FOR LOWER FUEL CONSUMPTION AND HIGH PERFORMANCE. Thanks to STIHL four-channel technology, you can work with your power tool with very low fuel consumption and high performance. The four overflow channels guide the fuel-and-air mixture into the cylinder in a targeted and more compressed manner, which optimally burns the fuel and significantly increases the performance of the engine.
FOR MORE PLEASANT WORK. Vibrations can occur when you put your power tools through their paces, and these are particularly noticeable in the grip area. The buffer and spring elements of the STIHL anti-vibration system reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area and therefore to your body. The result is that your power tool is more comfortable to hold and your work is much less tiring.
